Welcome. I’m Jennifer Siliato.
It can be difficult to find a path forward through distressing emotions and difficult life situations. I believe counseling is effective and important for anyone interested in understanding their own life circumstances and making positive life changes. As human beings I believe every person can benefit from having the unbiased support of another party, to share the weight of heavy emotions, identify patterns and recurring themes of emotions and improve your mental well-being.
You’ve been trying to make changes for some time now, tackle a new goal, deal with a difficult situation, reduce your constant worrying or better control your emotions. You feel isolated, alone and stuck in a cycle that feels unbreakable. Physical, emotional and relational stressors happen to all of us, how we react and cope with these stressors is based on our own previous life experiences. Exploring and processing these root causes can help create the framework of how to move forward.
-For those who work with me, therapy is a supportive non-judgmental space where you can begin to process life experiences, understand your own behavior and identify what changes you are ready to make. Working together looks like finding the best tools to relieve current frustrations, recognize the validity of your emotions and develop skills to manage life stressors. As an interactive and eclectic therapist, I help others invest mentally, physically and emotionally to prioritize themselves and improve self-awareness to better address repetitive cycles of difficult thinking and feeling.
I am licensed in Mental Health Counseling. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Forensics and Stress Management. I work with adults and adolescents in New York City, Richmond County, and throughout New York State.
As a counselor I have helped those struggling with anxiety, depression, eating disorders and trauma. Every person is different and deserves to have a therapeutic journey tailored to their needs and strengths, I will meet you where you are in your journey and together take steps towards understanding what is stopping you from achieving your goals. I believe our thoughts, feelings and behaviors are all intricately linked and are often heavily influenced by our prior live experiences, creating cyclical patterns that feel ridged and exhausting. By utilizing a more hands on and interactive approach we can work towards understanding the root of these patterns and how to combat them.
