Course intended for Social Workers and Mental Health Professionals
Description: While the world has pivoted to the needs of what telehealth can be for healthcare professionals, the ethics and logistics are often not as seamless as we would hope for. In this course for continuing education for mental health, attendees will be able to identify the ethics, logistics, and standards in relation to telehealth for clinicians. Utilizing information gained prior and during COVID19, this course engages attendees to be able to identify any barriers to access for potential clients and prepare to use telehealth as needed and desired.
Presenter: Andrea Brognano, LMHC, LPC, NCC, licensed clinician in NY and NJ, has worked in the counseling field for over 5 years. As an established business owner (Founder and CEO of Therapy Connection) of a telehealth only private practice, she has researched and compiled data to help analyze the needs for her community as well as ways to best utilize telehealth platforms for her business and businesses for others. Andrea works to help other business owners prepare for a future of telehealth and to plan for any further changes that the world may need in relation to living in a telehealth world.
Objectives:
- The attendees will compile strategies to use to become telehealth compliant within their own communities and work.
- The attendees will identify barriers to telehealth and describe situations in which telehealth might not be the best fit for a client.
- The attendees will analyze the development of telehealth services and prepare for the trajectory of telehealth in the future.
- The attendees will critique and assess the access for telehealth within their own communities
